jesus. justice. generosity. collaboration.

We believe that every Christian has a responsibility to make disciples of Jesus in their neighborhood, workplace and around the world. Jesus also described what compassionate ministry looks like in the parable of the Sheep and the Goats in Matthew 25. At The 25 Group, we do not see a separation between the sharing of the Gospel and the showing of compassion. They have to work together.

the history of the 25 group

It all started in 2014 with our founder, titus benton, seeing a need and choosing to do something about it. Every year the 25 group continues to grow as believers witness the vision to increase their generosity in obedience to Christ's commands in Matthew 25. We have partnered with organizations that feed the hungry, give water to the thirsty, welcome the stranger, heal the sick, clothe the naked and released captives around the globe.

Throughout the last 10 years we’ve been able to donate almost $500,000 to uplift and care for the least of these both near and far. We believe in taking small donations and making big impacts with them. Do you believe it’s possible to change the world with as little as $25 a month?

"Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ - Matthew 25:37-40

Meet the Ones Who Make it Happen

  • Brooke Hill | Executive Director

In 2018, I joined The 25 Group team as the Director of Storytelling which led me around the world to capture the stories of our partner organizations. In 2020, I became the Executive Director which has allowed me to continue advocating for the least of these in ways I never imagined!

What I love about The 25 Group is that every year we work with different organizations that are uplifting the marginalized. As someone who has a huge heart for many causes, The 25 Group has created an opportunity for me to support multiple nonprofits that are meeting holistic needs. I don’t have to choose one - I can support them all! Every year I look forward to the relationships I will form with amazing organizations doing mighty things.

When I’m not traveling the world, my days are spent in the company of my husband and adorable doggo named Charlie. You will find me in coffee shops throughout the week, and then getting lost in the mountains on the weekends.

  • Matthew McBirth | President

I joined the Board of Directors of The 25 Group in 2021. I teach at a Bible college in the areas of biblical studies, spiritual formation, justice studies. What drew me to The 25 Group is that I have found in my study of Scripture over the years, that the Gospel of Jesus is about justice - God setting things right. His parable in Matthew 25 demonstrates this. To serve the least of these means to treat people like we would treat Jesus himself. I love the work of The 25 Group because it seeks to do this very thing. The focus on those who are normally marginalized and looked over excites me because it demonstrates to those on the margins of society's view that they are not on the margins of God's view. It reminds the world of the dignity every person has, and it reminds the church where Jesus is: with the least of these.

I'm married to my beautiful bride, Allison, and we have two young children. Apart from talking about unity within the church, you can find me hanging out with my family, reading something for personal study, or listening to hip-hop music.

  • Tiphani Lu | Vice President

I have always kind of been around since The 25 Group started. In the beginning, I volunteered to run our social media, then Brooke came along and used her skills to further our mission. I, in the last couple years, have become a board member and even more recently, was asked to serve as the Vice President of the Board of Directors.

There are many things I love about The 25 Group, but being a part of giving financial gifts that benefit the Kingdom over and beyond typical giving and seeing the fruit of our partner organizations is beautiful. I love that we can give a small, medium or large amount of money, knowing that the Lord is going to use it to His glory!

A few more things about me: First, I love coffee. I currently run a social enterprise coffee company and love being able to be a part of the Great Commission by doing something I really enjoy. And in January, I adopted a puppy! So I spend most of my days drinking a cup of coffee and chasing around a puppy, which to me, seems like the life.

  • Studio Humankind

    Lauren Rosenthal | Board Member

After supporting the brand design and website development of The 25 Group in 2021, I have officially joined their board of directors in 2023. I operate my own humanitarian website design and development studio serving nonprofit organizations from human rights to environment, healthcare, community, education, and more.

I was drawn to The 25 Group because of their mission to connect leaders and movements in faith, mindfully serving the least of these for incredible impact around the world. Likewise, I’m extremely passionate about using our creative resources and talents for good the way God did in loving and serving the world. I feel so blessed to be a part of The 25 Group, which graciously provides unwavering support for all they serve. My husband, Branden, and I live in Kansas City with our puppy, Minnie. Outside of work, you’ll find me curling up with a good book and chai tea, spending time with family and friends, or traveling in pursuit of happiness and deeper understanding of our world.
